Service Provider
Mission-driven social service agency is seeking a hardworking, self-motivated Service Provider to provide support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position is primarily responsible for assisting individuals to live as valued and accepted members of the community.
Summary: A Support Provider provides personalized assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them achieve greater independence in activities of daily living, community integration, and overall well-being by offering support with personal care, transportation, life skills training, and advocacy, while adhering to individual support plans and promoting their dignity and choice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilites.
- Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
- Reports changes in individuals condition to supervisors.
- Actively support or promote socially valued roles within the individual's community.
- Promote a positive public perception of both the individuals served and of oneself.
- Assit in meal planning and grocery shopping.
- Facilitate opportunities for the individual to participate in recreational and educational activities.
- Encourage autonomy and self-determination.
- Assists with home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in a similar field is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate clearly in a variety of situations is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- 18 years of age or older
